A WONDERFUL Giveaway!

Hey everyone! We have been working hard on our booth, enjoying the summer, working in our gardens, visiting with our family, vacationing, exercising and more! I am sure everyone is in the same boat, and I am still working on a longer explanation of where I have been the last several months, and just trying to get the strength and courage to finish the post and press publish. So in the meantime (because I will finish it and publish it), I am throwing a giveaway to show my appreciation for everyone's support!

Feel free to share this giveaway with all your friends so that they have a chance as well!

And while you are at it, here is some of the newest pics from our booth!

A couple things about entering the giveaway. If you have already liked us on Facebook (for instance), you can claim those entries. If you have already followed us on Blogger, you can claim those entries and so on and so forth. Good luck and have fun!

A few finished pieces.....

Before you think it, or say it... yes, I disappeared for a while. Have had a lot going on, one major thing, but I am working on the post (and trying to work up the nerve to post it) explaining. For now, I wanted to show you a few of the pieces we have been working on. Unfortunately, I don't have before pictures (another thing that has suffered but I swear starting now, I am ON IT for future projects!).

First, this cute little shelf was just a plain old light color wood, most likely handmade.  Found it at an indoor flea market, and I just envisioned this in some little girls room, holding her little treasures! So I choose the violet color we had, and since gray is so hot right now (pink and gray, purple and gray, yellow and gray - its everywhere in kids room right now), I thought the little pop of gray would suit this piece well. And of course, we lightly distressed it....

This vintage plant stand, was a very dark color wood - just kind of - blah! Just because I can't keep plants alive (either my cats eat them, or I kill them), doesn't mean other people don't like to keep plants! And I never did think about this, but this could go great on a front porch as well! So because most plants and flowers are cheery, I just had to go with a bright color. We chose duck egg blue for the shelf parts, and old ocher (which is like a buttermilk color) for the legs. Distressed it where it needed it, and bam! I think it turned out rather well if I may say so myself!

I cant take credit for this one at all... this one is all my Mom. A vintage coffee table that before, looked rather dull, and now - pops!  The edging around this piece is fantastic itself, and I like how she used the gray to define it, as well as on the legs.

Well, those are just a few of the finished pieces we have been working on. I am going junking this weekend, so I am sure I will have a boat load of pictures to add, and adventures to share! Talk to you all soon!

Stuffed Peppers! A dinner you will be glad you made!

Well, I'm back. Things have just gotten away from me! We had a death in the family, I've been swamped trying to juggle the booth, and keeping the house clean (yea right!), and something happened with my god sister, which.... I don't want to really go into at this moment because what I am really here to do, is to share one of my favorite recipes of this time. Now, my husband likes it, probably wishes I wouldn't make it as much as I do, but come on... I am the one that's slaving over the stove right!? I added some additional spice for him recently, which has made him very happy. So... here we go!

What you need:
* 1lb of ground beef
*2-4 large green peppers
* Small can of tomato sauce
*Rice-a-Roni 4 cheese rice
*Chopped onion (I use about a half of a medium size vadalia/sweet onion)
*Garlic salt
*pepper
*shredded cheese of your choice
*Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

1st step - Make the Four cheese Rice-a-Roni per the instructions

2nd - chop the onion. Place in frying pan with the ground beef and cook until all pink is gone.

3rd step - While the ground beef/onion mixture and rice is cooking, cut the tops off your green peppers, and take out the inside seeds so that they are hollowed out. Put them into a pot of water, and bring to a boil. Boil for about 2 minutes. When finished, take out of boiling water and place to the side.

4th step - By now, your beef and onion mixture should be done. When your rice is finished, take about 2 cups of the rice and place into the beef/onion mixture. Pour in the tomato sauce (you can add more from a second can if you wish, but this is the amount I have come to like). Warm the mixture.  As it is warming, I add the garlic salt, and fresh ground black pepper TO YOUR TASTE specifications.

5th step- place the the green peppers in a deep baking dish and fill the peppers up halfway. Add a small layer of shredded cheese. (at this point, I add extra spice to one of them for my husband. In our case, its African Bird pepper, but you could add whatever extra spices you want if someone in your family likes their food spicy!)

6th step - Fill up the peppers the rest of the way. Again, if you are making one spicy for someone in your household, sprinkle some of the spices on that same pepper. Make sure to remember which one is the spicy one!

7th step - Cover with tin foil and bake 20 minutes. Remove from oven, and take the tin foil off. Put another layer of cheese on top and bake for another 10 minutes.

Final step - Take out of the oven, and enjoy!

**Note - I say you need 2-4 green peppers, as you can really make this work for any of those numbers. The amount of mixture you are making, is for 4 peppers. So if you only make 2, you will have some left over mixture. I sometimes will make the leftovers in the next couple days for lunch or a dinner where my husband can't get out of work, either by just warming up the mixture and eating it by itself, or making another full pepper just for myself!
It may seem like a lot of work, but it really isn't, and I don't even need the recipe anymore!
Hope you all enjoy!

The Socially Stunning Giveaway

Socially speaking, what can I say... a best friend is better than any diamond in the world. I promise you that. She let's you cry, whine, nag, be silly, make a fool of yourself, and she never judges. She tells you how it is, and you tell her back. It is a love that never fails. I have two wonderful best friends. One of which lives LITERALLY across the country and it pains me each day I have to accomplish something without her, endure something without her, or experience something without her. We can go days or weeks without talking, and pick up right where we left off when we get to talk again. We've gone years without seeing each other, and recently, she came here to see me get married. It was as if we had never been apart. She recently opened a business, and I am happy to support her in this endeavor, and let you all gain from this accomplishment of hers! Maybe you want something pretty for your hand or around your neck, or maybe you send this as a special gift to your best friend. But either way...

....Are you ready to win some more pretty little things? Somer Chic Boutique and Wonderful at Home have gotten together to give out some beautiful pieces of jewelry! Entering this giveaway is as easy as clicking that mouse.... All you have to do is follow the instructions below, and you could easily have 6.....
